Announcements/New Business
- Potluck hosting (Kaitlin Mitchell):
We need a volunteer to host the potluck for December. Kaitlin wants someone located centrally to accommodate members from around,
- Shadow for MAP Chair (Kaitlin Mitchell)
Chapter is looking for the one who could shadow Selina this year. Selina will retire from the position after this year.
- October MGR recap, December MGR (Iris Hsu Rose):
The October MGR went very well. Our students performed well and it was appreciated by the residents. One of them offered to send “Thank You Card” to individual students who participated. Chapter decides to have it addressed to teachers, not individual students.
Iris may add another MGR. Next MGR is on December 14th.
- Musical Passport Festival (Makiko Meyer)
Makiko is preparing for the event. She reminds teachers to fill out individual time slots for each student.
- Young Composers Recital (Kaitlin Mitchell)
PDF is one of the forms to submit the composition. Since the event is a celebration of young musicians, any form of composition would be accepted.
- Music for Sale (Joyce Meech)
More music is available and the profit will go to the Chapter.

Do your eyes glaze over when you hear the terms “regulating” or “voicing” from your piano technician? This fast-paced and entertaining presentation will boost your understanding of how the various systems of the piano work and how to communicate and collaborate with your technician to gain the best rewards from your instrument. Topics discussed:”What are regulating and voicing?” The advantages of “floating pitch,”The importance of humidity control. What can be done about overly heavy or light actions? What’s the difference between our tuning and electronic tuning? Bring your questions!
