Treasurer’s Report – Laurie Ketron (given in meeting).
Announcements/New Business
Scam Emails (Laurie Ketron, Kaitlin Mitchell)
Laurie got a scam email from “Stephanie” saying she needed $2000 and quickly – look at your
emails carefully (especially the email address of the sender) and know that our board will never
ask members to quickly get us funds. Nicole says emails about donating pianos can also be
scams. Luke has gotten some detailed ones as well. WSMTA will be sending out an article soon
about scam emails.
MGR (Cherry Li & Gloria Tzuang)
Spots available for the March 2nd MGR! There’s a registration form on our website for those
who want to sign up.
MAP (Selina Chu)
MAP is this weekend, Thurs-Sat. Thanks to Jan Hazelton we got a free location! Selina thinks
we’ll break even. Selina has certificates if anyone needs more certificates. Hannah Cho has
asked for a list of all advanced repertoire so she can prepare.
The MAP Recital is on Saturday March 2nd, 5pm. Sign up by February 27th.
Teacher’s Recital (Kaitlin Mitchell)
We had our Teacher’s Recital Saturday February 1st and 7 teachers came and shared their
wonderful music! We are considering having a more casual gathering over the summer where
we play music together and maybe do a potluck?
Scholarship Competition (Nicole Kim)
Saturday April 12th. MAP is the prerequisite for signing up for the Scholarship Competition.
Don’t forget to pick up your MAP Student Assessment paper and get it to Nicole. Registration
forms are online. Register by March 10th, 2025. Please email Nicole with any questions.
Workshop
“Group Piano Party Time” – Mary Kaye Owen NCTM
